Regulatory Compliance & Certification
Regulatory Compliance
Custom Power is committed to environmental responsibility and the safety of our end users and employees.
Custom Power is committed to environmental responsibility and the safety of our end users and employees. As such, we take great care to maintain compliance with relevant national and international regulations and are registered and/or certified to these standards where applicable. We are compliant with the following regulations and standards.
RoHS
RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) regulations restrict the use of numerous substances in the manufacture of electrical and electronic products, including lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, and several others. Batteries and battery packs are exempt from RoHS regulations; instead, battery manufacturing is governed by the Battery Directive, which contains requirements for labeling and collection.
Custom Power recognizes that many customers prefer to use RoHS compliant components in their battery packs despite this exemption. We are ready, willing, and able to accommodate these customer requirements by using only RoHS compliant components upon request.
REACH
Specific to the European Union, REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and restriction of Chemicals) is a regulation that requires importers and manufacturers of certain chemical substances within the European Union to manage the potential risks of and provide safety information for those substances.
For our customers selling into the European market, Custom Power can provide a full REACH declaration for substances used in the articles we distribute and use in assemblies.
ITAR
ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) controls the import/export of defense-related articles and services found on the United States Munitions List. The goal of ITAR is to safeguard US national security and to advance US foreign policy objectives; it dictates that any information or material pertaining to defense- and military-related technologies may only be shared with US citizens, unless prior authorization by the State Department or other special exemption is given.
Custom Power is fully ITAR compliant.
Conflict Minerals Policy
“Conflict minerals” are certain minerals, and their derivatives, mined from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and adjacent countries where the sale of these minerals may fund armed groups involved in ongoing conflicts. All US-based, stock-listed companies must file annual disclosures with the US Securities and Exchanges Commission to indicate if their products contain conflict minerals.
Custom Power fully supports the Conflict Minerals Policy.
